REVISITANDO O CONCEITO DE MISSIO DEI DIANTE DOS DESAFIOS DA ATUALIDADE

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to revisit the concept and the articulations of the missio Dei in the light of contemporary trends and challenges of the mission and to suggest four elements that should be considered in the theological reflection of the missio Dei in contemporary times: 1) Digital technological transformations; 2) The formation and sending of missionaries; 3) The emphasis on the missional church; 4) Understanding the purpose of the missio Dei. It is expected that this may cause an interest for the topic and may contribute for the consolidation of the understanding of missio Dei.

Doutor em Teologia no Antigo Testamento pela Faculdades EST - 2011, Mestre em Missiologia pelo Centro Evangélico de Missões - CEM - 2006, Mestre em Teologia no Antigo Testamento pela Calvin Theological Seminary, 1996. Pesquisador visitante no Center for Missiological Research do Global Research Institute de Fuller Theological Seminary (jan-jun, 2018). Autor de diversos artigos e professor na área de línguas bíblicas e teologia da missão em diversas instituições teológicas no Brasil e também em Angola e Moçambique. Atualmente é professor da Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, em São Paulo - SP, e Capelão do Seminário Presbiteriano do Sul, em Campinas - SP. É casado com Jenni com quem tem cinco filhos.
